- FAQ About Scarsdale's Non-Partisan Election System2023-02-20Scarsdale's Non-Partisan Election System promotes the election of candidates who are qualified by reason of their civic, rather than political, abilities and experience. Village qualified voters elect a Citizens Nominating Committee (CNC), which in turn selects a slate of candidates for the village offices of trustee, mayor and village justice. The system encourages the active participation of all residents. The Non-Partisan system is financed entirely by community support.

- Comparison of 2018 Non-Partisan Resolution to Proposed 2022 Amendment, Nov 15, 2022 CNC Election2022-10-18This Report is a markup of the current Non-Partisan Resolution which was ratified by voters in 2018. The markup indicates proposed amendments for voter approval at the November 15, 2022 Citizens Nominating Committee Election. The main and most significant amendment permits non-citizen residents to participate in the CNC process and the non-partisan election of Scarsdale Mayor, Trustees, and Village Justice. Other amendments clarify the document to support voter readability and accessibility. Voting takes place at the Scarsdale Public Library from 7:00 am to 9:30 am, and from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
- 2022 Amendment to Non-Partisan Resolution, on the ballot at the Nov 15, 2022 CNC Election,2022-10-18Every year the Procedure Committee reviews and, when deemed appropriate, recommends amendments to the Non-Partisan Resolution which then must be proposed to the public and approved by the voters of Scarsdale Village. The Committee proposed amendments to the public on June 28, 2022. Following a 90-day public comment period, the Committee recommends ratification of the amendments reflected in this document. The main, most significant amendment is to permit, beginning next year, non-citizen residents local participation in Scarsdale's process of electing a slate of non-partisan candidates for the offices of Mayor, Trustees, and Village Justice. An Election brochure will be mailed to all residents prior to the November 15, 2022 election. Additional details may found on this website as posted.
